Our owner and operator Brett, is a qualified optical mechanic and optical dispenser with 40 years of experience in the optical industry.

A Claremont local, he began his career in his father's practice in 1990, completing a 4-year optical mechanic’s apprenticeship.

He furthered his studies with a Diploma of Optical Dispensing in 1995, and has been dedicated to providing exceptional eye care ever since.

When you can’t find him in-store, Brett spends his time cycling and enjoying the Claremont community.

Our principal optometrist Deepa holds over 30 years of experience in the optical industry. Deepa brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our practice.

She holds a Bachelor of Vision Science with Honors (BVisSci Hons) from Aston University in Birmingham and a Postgraduate Certificate in Ocular Therapeutics (Ph GradCert-OcTher).

Deepa's extensive career has taken her from the UK to Kenya, enriching her professional journey with diverse international experience before settling in Perth.

Since joining Friendlies Eyecare in 2001, Deepa has dedicated the past 23 years to providing exceptional eye care to our community.

Nayha joined our practice in 2022 and has swiftly become a vital member of the Friendlies Eyecare team.

Having relocated to Perth in 2015, she previously held the position of Managing Optometrist at Eye Q Optometrists in Subiaco.

Her academic achievements include a Bachelor of Science in Optometry (BSc Hons) from the University of Manchester, a Postgraduate Certificate in Ocular Therapeutics (PGCertOcTher), and she is currently studying a postgraduate certificate to be a Specialist Contact Lens Practitioner with the Australian College of Optometry.

With a keen focus on myopia control, contact lenses and paediatric eye health, Nayha's wealth of experience and dedication ensures excellent care for our community.

In her leisure time, she enjoys in quality moments with her young family, engaging in sports, and exploring new destinations.

We are thrilled to introduce our Optical Dispenser, Kate, who joined Friendlies Eyecare in July.

Holding a Certificate IV in Optical Dispensing, Kate brings a wealth of experience to our practice, having started her career in the optical industry in 2005.

Her extensive knowledge and dedication to providing personalized service make her an invaluable asset to our team and ensure our patients receive the highest quality care and attention.

One of our two talented Optical Assistants, Maddy has two years of experience in the optical industry, beginning her training in the picturesque region of Margaret River.

Since then, she has developed a strong passion for eye care and customer service, bringing her enthusiasm and fresh perspective to our team at Friendlies Eyecare.
